I first came to yoga at 25 while working as a professional dancer. At the time, I was primarily interested in its physical benefits: maintaining flexibility, managing injuries and supporting the demands I was placing on my body. But I quickly discovered that yoga offered something much deeper.

MORE THAN A
PHYSICAL PRACTICE.

My relationship with yoga continues to evolve. These days, the mental practice and the process of self-enquiry are at the heart of it for me.

The teachings of the Yoga Sutras fascinate me because they remain so relevant to modern life. Many of the struggles we experience as human beings - attachment, comparison, fear, judgement and the constant activity of the mind - have always been with us.

Yoga provides a map for exploring that complexity.

Time spent studying and practising in India deepened this understanding and gave me a profound sense of connection - to other people, to something larger than the individual self and to the idea that we are not as separate as we sometimes feel.

Yoga as self-enquiry.

My teaching draws from Ashtanga Vinyasa, while also being informed by my background in dance, biomechanics, strength and conditioning and wider movement practice.

Sessions are breath-led, steady and grounding, with clear guidance and close attention to alignment. Depending on the person or group, we might explore strength, mobility, balance, stillness, relaxation or elements of yoga philosophy.

I don't expect bodies to conform to a single expression of a pose.

The practice is adapted to the individual, with space to enquire, notice and experience rather than simply trying to perform each posture correctly.

How I teach.

I currently offer yoga on a 1-1 basis or for small private groups by arrangement.

Private sessions can be particularly helpful if you are new to yoga, would like more individual guidance or want a practice shaped around your own body and circumstances. They can also support pregnancy, the postnatal period or anyone wanting to explore yoga beyond the physical poses.

Each session begins with a conversation about what you need, From there, I can facilitate a practice that feels appropriate, whether that means moving, breathing, resting, building confidence or simply creating some space in a busy life.
