A lifetime
in movement
about KateFrom gymnastics and professional dance to strength training, biomechanics and yoga, movement has shaped the way I live, work and understand the body.
my storyMovement has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I was a gymnast as a child, began dancing in my teens and then spent around ten years travelling the world as a professional dancer.
Dance gave me an enormous amount: discipline, body awareness, performance skills and a deep connection to movement. But it was also largely about technique, choreography and creating aesthetically pleasing movement for an audience. There was pressure to look and move in a particular way, and over time that affected both my physical and mental health.
Finding my way
a turning pointFinding a different way to move.
By the time my dance career ended in 2013, injuries had accumulated and I felt that my body could no longer keep up with the demands I was placing on it.
Stepping away brought an unexpected sense of relief. I began exploring strength training, Pilates, yoga and martial arts — not to look a certain way or meet the requirements of a performance, but because I genuinely enjoyed moving and learning from great teachers.
A broader understanding
of the body.
expanded knowledgeIn 2013, I qualified as a Personal Trainer. Since then, my work has taken me through strength and conditioning, biomechanics, pre- and postnatal exercise, nutrition and yoga.
Each discipline has given me a different way of understanding the body, and together they’ve shaped the thoughtful, adaptable approach I bring to my coaching.

MOBILITY & RECOVERY
where I am nowMore curiosity.
More possibility.
More recently, I’ve become increasingly interested in what happens when we begin to cross the boundaries between disciplines.
My background has given me a great deal of technical movement training, but even dance was usually based around learning choreography and trying to perform it correctly. I’m now exploring a different kind of relationship with movement: one with more freedom, curiosity, adaptability and room for personal expression.
I’m interested in freestyle and functional movement, primal movement, calisthenics, floorwork and movement practices that develop strength, mobility, coordination and creativity at the same time.
philosophyMovement is for everyone.
what connects everything I do: meeting people where they are, helping them build the foundations they need and creating opportunities to discover that movement can be practical, empowering, playful and genuinely enjoyable.
I don’t believe there is one right way to move or one version of fitness that works for everyone.
