my approach

A personal approach to training.

My approach is simple: start where you are, build from the ground up and find a way of training that is sustainable for your life.

Many of the people I work with are busy. Careers, children and family life can mean exercise has been inconsistent for months or years. Others already train regularly but want more structure, support or expertise to progress.

Sessions are shaped around your goals, experience and what you enjoy, with a focus on building strength, improving fitness and helping you feel more capable and comfortable in your body.

training that fits around you

In your home or
local park.

I train clients at their home or in their local park, bringing the equipment we need.

Removing the journey to and from a gym can make a big difference when time is limited. Training outdoors also gives you time outside, even in winter.

Ultimately, my job is to make looking after your physical health easier to fit into your life, not another source of pressure.

building strength from the ground up

A supportive, individual approach.

Sessions use a broad range of training methods and equipment depending on your goals, experience and what you enjoy.

Strength training forms a big part of my work, alongside cardiovascular fitness, mobility, core strength, power and movement quality.

My Strength & Conditioning knowledge allows me to programme for sports and events, while my training in biomechanics informs how I assess movement and select exercises, including corrective interventions where useful.

Whatever we're working towards, I take a slow and steady approach. We walk before we run, establish good foundations and progress as your strength, skill and capacity develop.

philosophy

Training that’s about more than how you look

Improved body composition is often a welcome by-product of regular exercise, and there’s nothing wrong with wanting to lose weight or build muscle for health or aesthetic reasons. But it isn’t the main focus of how I work.

I’m more interested in helping people become stronger, fitter and more capable and comfortable in their bodies, while developing a relationship with exercise that can last because it becomes more enjoyable.

women, motherhood and midlife

Support through
different life stages.

I have additional qualifications in pre- and postnatal exercise and I'm continuing my education around perimenopause and menopause.

I have a particular interest in how strength, cardiovascular fitness, power, mobllity and recovery can support women through midlife and beyond.

I also have a real passion for working with mums. Sessions can adapt around feeds, naps and interruptions, and babies, children and pets are welcome.

getting started

Simple, flexible and
tailored to you.

I offer a complimentary phone consultation so we can talk about what you're looking for, whether my approach feels right for you and the practicalities of working together.

Sessions take place at your home or in a local park and last one hour.

New clients begin with an initial block of three sessions paid in advance. After that, sessions are invoiced at the end of each calendar month.
